Potential 2 soc code to be assigned

Post by Great77 » Thu Oct 17, 2013 6:59 am

Hi,

At the moment I have a contract with a company till May 2014, and in October 2014 I will be 10 years. After 2 months of thinking, the company said they will deal with the issue to sponsor me for Tier 2 till May 2014. Another company has verbally confirmed they will employ me on permanent role, but they are not aware of my visa situation that am on PSW and if they will sponsor me. They have Licence.

Should I tell the new employer about my situation?

Can I allow the new employer to assign SOC code for me, even though my current employer is about to issue SOC code? If I go for premium appointment with the new employer, will the SOC code assigned by my current employer conflicts or affects my application.

I hope there is clarity in this message. My visa expire December 12th, 2013.

Thanks
Great

if by "SOC code" you mean "Certificate of Sponsorship" see:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... onsorship/

Sponsors assign certificates using the sponsorship management system, and you can only have 1 live certificate of sponsorship in the system at any 1 time. A live certificate of sponsorship is 1 that the sponsor has assigned to you, but that you have not used yet to apply.

If you have given your personal details to a prospective sponsor and that sponsor assigns a certificate of sponsorship to you, then no other sponsor can assign a certificate of sponsorship to you during the time the certificate gives you permission to come or stay. So it is very important that you only give your personal details to a sponsor you intend to work for

Thank you Manci. I will wait for the current employer to decide if they will issue sponsorship, else I will give notice and switch to the new employer. The main thing is that am not sure if the new employer will wait for 2 months as notice period.

Thank you so much for this update and link.
