Post by mohmedarif » Sun Oct 20, 2013 12:04 pm

Hi Guru's,

I'm a tier 1 general migrant and planning to apply ILR on Jan 2014. I have a query on the KOL for my wife (dependent)

She has cleared the life in uk test on dec 2012. however she does not have any qualification or any english certificate as such .

Could you please let me know does she needs to pass any Knowledge of Life (ESOL).

Thanks in Advance for all your help

Thanks Amber !!!

Excellent thanks for all your help ...

Regarding my degree as i have claimed the points using my degree and it is equivalent to uk English and i could view the same in points based calculator.

I presume that this should be equivalent to B1 . Let me know if my assumption is Right .

Thanks in Advance !!!

I would say yes based on:
Page 3 wrote:If you already have a qualification at B1 level
Applicants who already have an English language qualification at B1 level or above will not be
required to take another one. For example, someone who demonstrated a knowledge of English
equivalent to B1 level when applying for entry clearance will not be required to take a further test in
order to qualify settlement
.
