Hi,

Just a quick question... My partner is about to apply for British Citizenship having previously been here on an unmarried partner visa and held ILR for one year.

The form ask for two referees, and I was wondering if I would be allowed to act as one? It says they cannot be a relative, but as we are unmarried, we aren't related, so do you think I can complete that section?

Thanks in advance,
Paul.

Although, a strict interpretation you wouldn't be 'related' I think it's prudent you do not.

Living as "Partner" is a relationship. More so the applicant had unmarried partner visa means in relationship. Find someone else.
