The directive 2004/38/ec applies. The child is a family member of an EU national. Visa can be obtained free of charge. It is also possible to enter without a visa if one can demonstrate that one is a family member of an EU national.Missionred wrote:I am looking for advice / suggestions in relation to a visit Visa to UK . Me and my wife are Irish Citizens and our Daughter( 3 yrs) is yet to be naturalised as an Irish Citizen. We are hoping to travel to the UK for Christmas.
Can a Non EU child travel with Eu parents without a valid Visa -
She was born in Ireland and will the Birth certificate / PPs number suffice
Don't find any information about minors applying for a short trem visit Visa to the UK though i read somewhere that under 5's are exempted from fingerprints .
Any information in this regard wil be appreciated
Thanks
Perhaps too technical, then get yourself a visa. If you care to read it, you will see that the journey can be done without.Missionred wrote:Thanks for the reply . I read though the directive 2004/38/EC. Was too technical and i think it said that Non Eu citizens need a visa
"With a view to facilitating the free movement of family
members who are not nationals of a Member State,
those who have already obtained a residence card should
be exempted from the requirement to obtain an entry
visa within the meaning of Council Regulation (EC) No
539/2001 of 15 March 2001 listing the third countries
whose nationals must be in possession of visas when
crossing the external borders and those whose nationals
are exempt from that requirement (1) or, where appropriate, of the applicable national legislation."
I dont mind applying for a visa but can it be done through post or should i bring her to the Embassy in Dublin , as children under 5 years old need not enroll with their bio metric information.
I will try to ring the call center to see if they could be of any help
Thanks
