Tier 1 Dependant be a sponsoring of General Visitor Visa

Post by RosyTier1 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 2:42 pm

Hi All,

I'm Tier 1 General Dependant. My husband recently got ILR(2 days back). I'm planning to bring my mom and dad on General Visitor visa sponsered by me. In other post's I understood as Dependant I can sponsor the visitor visa. I'm working from last 12 months and have all necessary documents.

I'm sponsoring visa instead of my husband only reason is House Rent agreement is under my name and his name doesn't appear in agreement. But still we are providing both of us account statements and payslips.

Here I need your help to confirm whether my parents can come under General Visitor visa or I need to to process them as Family Visitor visa because my husband is ILR.

Thanks
Rosy

If your parents need to rely on your benevolence to fund their visit or live in your house, yes, of course, you can be their sponsor. Family visit would be fine if your partner has ILR.

Hi Lucapooka

Thanks for your reply.
Just to confirm, what I understand I still can sponsor their visit as 'Family visitor visa' even if I dont have ILR but my partner is settled in UK with ILR (not citizen yet). Here I'm the sponsorer not my partner.

Thanks
