Ties To The Country

Can someone give me some examples as to what the HO classify as ties to the country.

- Owning property here,
- Having immediate relatives such as children, spouse, parents, etc.
- Having lived here your entire life (some people have lived their entire lives in the UK as non-citizens)
- Having significant business interests here

Perhaps others can think of more
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
