Hi folks,
I searched the forum but can’t seem to find the answers I’m looking for so I apologise in advance for it being long winded and also apologise if these questions have already been asked and answered.
The last time I applied for a visa it was the old method of taking application form to Birmingham in the morning, handing in said form with passport then collecting passport with visa in the afternoon. This has changed to an online application.
I have the following questions and would be grateful of any help.
My wife has just got her UK passport. Her Indian passport has been surrendered, but one of the questions on the online application is “Have you ever visited India?”. She did do so a few years ago on the Indian passport but never on the UK passport. Do we put Yes or No?
I need visa’s for 2 of my children who are both under 16. On the web site it states the following is required :
A copy of the child’s birth certificate showing both the parents’ names.
Consent letter addressed to the HCI, London OR its respective consulates signed by both the parents.
Photocopy of Parent’s passports along with the copy of their current Indian Visa, if already holding one. If parents are Indian citizens, copy of the resident status in the UK would be required.
Question is. Do we need all these documentation? And if so what do we write in the Consent letter?
How does the online process work? For example is I filled in the online form on Tuesday 29th after office closing hours, when am I likely to get an appointment in Birmingham? And lastly would I get the visa on the same day as the appointment or would I have to make a return journey?
Regards
Max
