Shortfall for 5 continuous years in the UK

Post by nazifnazir » Tue Oct 29, 2013 3:11 am

Dear All,

I got my tier 1 extension recently. However, I am concerned with the expiry date of the visa extension.

Visa: Tier 1 Extension
Intial Expiry Date: 23/05/2013
Application Date: 01/04//2013
Date of Issue: 01/05/2013
New Expiry Date : 01/05/2016

If I consider the 5 continuous years I am supposed to stay in the UK, I fall short by 22 days i.e. a total of 4 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Prior to this, I was working in the UK on post-study work visa for more than a year.

A few questions have popped up:
1. What is the likelihood of this scenario effecting my ILR application?
2. Do I need to apply for an extension to make up for the 22 days?
3. Should I apply for the ILR on 01//05/2016 or 22/05/2016?
4. Is there any other way I can apply for ILR without applying for second extension?
5. Which application would be most suitable? Postal/In-person?

Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Nazif.

Time spent under PSW may not be included for ILR under Tier 1 (General).

When and where were you granted your initial leave under Tier 1 (General)?
