Tourist Visa - Settlement Visa - Getting Married to British

Post by JkLondon » Tue Oct 29, 2013 3:21 pm

Hello All,

I am getting married in Nov, my wife has a tourist visa for UK - 6 months.

Is it possible that after marriage she comes with me to the UK and apply for settlement visa from the UK.

Will they have any problem. All your advice will be much appreciated.

Regards

Not possible. She will have to apply for a Spouse settlement visa after the wedding from her home country on form VAF4(a). Ensure before submitting the application that she meets all the conditions.

My spouse to be has done Bachelors and CFA LEVEL 1 and LEVEL 2 qualified - cfainstitute.org (taught only in English worldwide)

My question is - Is she exempt from the English language requirement test as she has already completed internationally accepted qualification and working for International American bank in India.

For the purpose of a spouse visa and the A1 English requirement see:

The approved list alternatively, if she has a comparable degree taught in English, see if it is awarded points for English on the PBS calculator.
