My Mother on Bc / Im on PSW how to process advice pls

Post by Soniamohan » Tue Oct 29, 2013 10:54 pm

Hi ,

My mother is a British Citizen(BC).
Right now I am on PSW visa.
Entered UK on student visa in 2010.

my details :
Student visa : Sep 2010-Sep 2012
PSW visa : Oct 2012-till date (Expiry date :Oct 2014).

So my Question is Am I eligible to apply for British Citizenship (BC)?
If YES, then What is the procedure and how to start ?

So please can u provide the full details and how to proceed ?
Guys If you could provide the details It would be appreciated.
thank you.

Was your mother British when you were born?
Were you born in the UK?
Are you under 18?

If the answers are no then your mother status has no affect on you. You need to have ILR to apply for naturalisation. I don't think PSW leads to ILR.

So the fact that your mother is BC doesn't help you.

You will need to have ILR and to meet the other requirements. See Standard requirements for naturalisation
