I may not mind your answer at all, by virtue of well said momentum.Brigid from Ireland wrote:He can apply under the Zambrano rules (this is a rule for the parent of a child who is an Irish citizen).
He needs to have his name on the birth certificate of the child. If his name is not on the birth certificate, he needs to get it put on. He needs to know that they may ask him to do a DNA test, as proof that he is the father of the Irish citizen child.
He needs to spend time with the child every week, because his right to stay is based on the idea that his child needs him, so if he spends no time with the child he can lose his right to a Zambrano.
If any attempt is made to deport him, his child (or you/him on behalf of his child) can apply to the court to prevent the deportation, as the child needs his father. The child will win this case.
All of the above assumes that the boyfriend is currently in Ireland. If he is not in Ireland he needs to get another visa to come to Ireland, then establish a relationship with the child, and then apply under Zambrano.
