Business address

Post by Amina90 » Thu Nov 07, 2013 9:18 am

Good Morning to all readers/viewers

I have registered my company at home address so can I process my application on that also attach office documents for which I'll hopefully get in month time? Do I need to get any permission from my landlady or council?

Tons of thanks in advance

@ Amina90,

The nature of your business will determine if Home Office will raise an eyebrow about running your business at home.

UK regulation is that you need to take permission from local authority to run your business at home if that business will have a detrimental effect on your neighbour. But if running your business at home does not affect anyone visibly, then you don't need council permission and even in my own opinion you don't need landlord permission either.

Example of such businesses includes, website designer, software engineer, self-employed contractors that work at clients site.

I hope this help.

@ Olasunkanmi

Thank you so much, so is that as per home office guide line that we can operate from home if it won't create any problem for other people around?
Also can you please advise if I need any solicitor letter for loan agreement to business because lots of people right in their documents list that they've submitted some kind of solicitor letter as well.
Please advise.
Heart fully thanks for your time and advises.

@ Amina90, Home Office did not publish any guideline in regard to home/business addresses, its just my opinion that applicants should decide the best option depending on business type.

The issue of informing the council is the regulation for businesses operating at residential addresses and you can check that on the website of your local council.

Director's loan agreement should be sign by yourself and attest by your accountant. No need for a solicitor, but you can ask your solicitor to certify it if you wish.
