Few questions about EEA2 Application Form

Post by chaoclive » Thu Nov 07, 2013 11:25 am

Hi there

I'm curious about a few questions on the EEA2 form.

We will be applying in the future for my civil partner to get a RC for the UK, after I (British) exercise treaty rights working in Hungary.

The form says:
If your British citizen family member exercised Treaty rights as a worker, please go to sec- tion 6. If your British citizen family member exercised Treaty rights as a self-employed person, please go to section 7.

Under Section 6: the form asks:
-6.7 Expected duration of employment: I'm guessing this is for EEA nationals currently working in the UK and not Surinder Singh applicants. Can I leave it blank?
-6.8 National Insurance Number if obtained: I have an NI number from before, but this is not applicable to Hungary. Can I leave it blank or should I provide the Hungarian equivalent?

Section 10: Personal history:
-10.11. How long have you lived in the UK? As the British citizen is not required to be a qualified person for the first 3 months of entry into the UK (after exercising EUTR in another EEA state), does it matter if we apply for the RC directly after reaching the UK? For example, after a few days?

-Is one pay slip really enough to get the RC under Surinder Singh? Or should I also include a contract of employment?

Is says that the forms should be sent to Durham. Has the office changed? I remember that it used to be Liverpool?

Thanks so much everyone!

Are you sure you got the right form? EEA2 doesn't have the same numbering you got.

In essence, your wife will need to fill in Section 1, Section 3 (with your details), section 5 (for your time abroad), Section 6 or 7 with your employment details abroad, Section 10, 11, 12.

The form is not perfect when it comes to Surinder Singh applications so some of the wording might be confusing.

You will need to provide evidence of employment for several weeks/months. She can apply the day she land in the UK.

The application is posted to Durham which take the fee and then pass it to Liverpool for further processing.

The form seems to be the same.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply!

Keep up the super work :)
