Refusal entry to Costarica and impact on ILR

Hi Experts,

On 24th Aug '13, I travelled to Costarica from UK [On project meetings] and I was told by my office travel team that the currecnt Teir 1 visa with Indian passport is valid to enter into costarica. Even the Costa Rica embassy in UK has emailed me to say that a visa is not required if I have a UK Tier 1 general migrant visa. But having reached there the officer dint agree on the BRP card and instead wanted to see the traditional viginett on the passport that I dint have and refused the entry. Eventually, I had to return back in the next available flight to UK on the 25th Aug '13.

Now my question is I have my PEO appointment booked on 20th Nov '13 for ILR.

a) Please let me know if this will impact adversly on my ILR application?

b) Do I have to mention this in the list of absence?

b) What is the relevant documentation to provide ?

Problem is like usually if I go India there will be one stamp with the date I entered India and when I return to UK there will be stamp by UK.

In this case there is no entry stamp in costarica. But there is a stamp with the date 26th Aug 2013. Does not make them think there is a problem as such?

For your peace of mind you can mention it, include your air ticket and/or boarding card to show departure, and your UK entry stamp will act as your arrival date.

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for the help. Finally I got the approval. It was PEO appointment at Sheffield.

1:00 PM Arrival
1:05 PM Token at reception
1:25 PM All the documents were just collected.
1:30 PM till 3:30 PM - Waiting
3:35 PM Biometrics taken
4:10 PM A lady called the token number and informed that my application has just been sent to Case worker for taking decision.
4:35 PM: A man called my token to inform that the decision was easy to make and the application for ILR is now approved and BRP's to follow in 10 working days. I was inquisitve to know my LIUK test marks he was friendly enough to check and written them on a post it and gave it away to me [23/24].

All the worry about the refusal of entry to Costa Rica has just turned out to be only panic.
