Please assist with query on Tier 2 ICT – Long Term Staff Mig

Request if someone could assist us on below query- Please!

My friend has transferred to UK under Tier 2 ICT – Long Term Staff Migrant rules. He was issued visa on 8th Sep 2011 and valid upto 07th Sep 2014 - 3 year period. The company he is working with will also second his second term however the question is:

Once he completes his 5 yrs in UK, can he apply for ILR? and if Yes under what category.

Any response is greatly appreciated.

Ideally this one is for the Tier 2 (Employer Sponsored)section

Am not a 100% certain, but I am not sure if he will be eligible to apply for his ILR at the completion of his 5 year period, as his initial grant was not prior to 6th April 2010.

a Tier 2 (Intra company transfer) migrant under the Immigration Rules in place before 6 April 2010; or
