Spouse of EU citizen - permit to work in France?

Post by kellyp » Sat Nov 09, 2013 4:11 am

I am Australian. I got married to an Italian in France and now I want to start work in France.
How do I get a work-permit? I have a Visa Etats Schengn, Type C issued as Family UE/EEE.
What do I need to do to be able to start working?

You don't need a work permit You will, however, encounter resistance or reluctance from prospective employer unless or until you apply for the French equivalent of a residence card (five years) that confirms your rights under EU law. You need to contact the Ministre de l'Intérieur. They have a website. Good luck.
