Australia, partner visa +child +jobs

Post by janspeed1 » Sun Nov 10, 2013 5:58 pm

Hi, any advice much appreciated.

Current situation:

-Wife is an australian citizen
-I am UK citizen (work in PR/Communications with 12 yrs experience at a high level)
-We currently live in UK
-We have a daughter born in UK (she's 2)

We are thinking of going back to Oz - but not sure what's the best combination of visas etc. We also have some questions:

Does my daughter need to have a new visa if her mum is Aus citizen?
Can i apply for jobs without yet having my own visa?

Anything you can advise would be a great help.

Thanks so much

I believe that Australian citizenship by descent is not conferred at birth, thus a child born outside Australia to an Australian parent must apply for citizenship. See here.

See herefor a spouse visa for you.
