Tier 2 dependent application

Post by Tier2_Dep » Tue Nov 12, 2013 3:53 pm

Hi all,

I am applying for Tier 2 extension in the next few weeks. Can my spouse apply for the dependent visa from India at the same time as I apply for my extension here?

This would effectively mean that my spouse would have to apply with my CoS and the salary/maintenance certificate given by my employer.

Or is it mandatory to my visa extended first before my spouse applies for dependent visa from India?

No. The application in India is contingent on the sponsor having valid leave in the UK. But, if the sponsor's leave is about to expire, the visa application made outside the UK would not be granted or, only granted in line with the expiry date of that leave. So, it's best to wait until your leave is granted and then apply for the dependant leave, or apply together from inside the UK (assuming she has leave that is also expiring).
