help needed 5 years cap on level 7

Post by gulrose786 » Thu Nov 14, 2013 6:25 am

visited a college for admission in level 7 and admission office asked me about my previous history in uk. i told them i have only studied MBA 2 years level 7 so i can study another 3 years on same level. he asked me what was entry clearance visa i told him it was 1 year master degree but after arrival i had to change college and i did DBA during that period. he said even you had to change your first course from MBA to DBA but still UKBA will include first year as level 7 because u applied for entry clearance visa on the basis of MBA.

Making this short finally he said First visa + 2 years MBA = 3 years on level 7 so you have only 2 more years to study at level 7. i am still confused because i have used DBA level 5 as back up to extend my 2 years MBA visa and there was no issue in those days. i am still in two minds that i have 3 years to study at level 7. Apart of focusing only the degree cap (5 years) you must be aware that the new course must meet the academic progression criteria too. Read page 11
