status of wife gnib

I have recently been naturalised. We are waiting for my wife's naturalisation. If her gnib card expires before her naturalisation, will they renew her stamp 3 or what is to be done to renew her card in this situation ?

Before her GNIB card expires, go with her to the immigration office and get them to issue her with a stamp 4 instead.
