ILR for dependant child

Post by mvvr » Thu Nov 14, 2013 10:06 pm

Hello everyone,
I have Tier1 general visa expiring on 12th April, 2014. I will be eligible for ILR from January 2014 onwards. One of my sons is born in UK, but holds Indian passport. He is on the same visa status as mine, expiring on 12th April, 2014. I am thinking of getting my PR by February, 2014 and then apply for his naturalization/citizenship directly after getting my PR.

I am just wondering if I can do this(since he is born in UK and I will have PR by the time of his citizenship application)? Please can anyone throw some light on this? Does he need PR as well?

I hope I can get some suggestions..
thanks..

A child born in the UK is entitled, by virtue of section 1(3) BNA to register as British as soon as either parent is settled regardless of the child's immigration status.
