Regarding switching visa from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General

Post by namalav » Sun Nov 17, 2013 8:24 pm

Hi,

I have a query regarding switching Visa from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General. I am currently on a Tier 2 ICT visa and looking to apply for a Tier 2 General through a sponsor. But my Tier 2 General Sponsor is asking for a no obligation certificate from my current Tier 2 ICT Visa sponsor. Please let me know whether no obligation certificate is mandatory for switching to Tier 2 General. Please advice. Please find below the list of visas issued to me.

1) Tier 2 ICT Migrant valid from 2009 Sep
2) 1 st extension in UK: Tier 2 ICT Leave to Remain issued in Feb 2010
3) 2 nd extension in UK: Tier 2 ICT Long Term Leave to Remain issued in April 2012

Thanks,
Venkat.

No, it is not, this is neither an immigration nor an employment law requirement.
You are eligible to switch to T2G but if you agree to the prospective sponsor to contact your current sponsor you will disclose to the latter that you are thinking of leaving them which may not be a good idea.
