Spouse Visa with a concurrent passport

Post by magsrevs » Mon Nov 18, 2013 8:45 am

Hello all,
This is a curly one, that I have been unable to find an answer for so far. My husband is a UK citizen, I am an Australian citizen and I will be applying for a spouse Visa.

However I have a concurrent passport (Australian), so while my main passport is being used for the visa application process, which I have to submit from Australia, I am able to travel to the UK to join my husband.

My question is, will this void my visa application, as I will be in the UK on a tourist visa.

Will the UKBA even connect the dots as the passports have different numbers.
Is it worth taking the risk? I don't want to void the spousal application $ and time wasted.
Thanks in advance for your help.
:)

How can you come as a visitor if you've put in a settlement application - you have an intention to settle in the UK/you would not intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit? Just wait for your EC as a spouse.

Well, yes, I could wait for my visa to come through - but that would mean my husband is in the UK and I am in Australia.

What I am asking is if I applied for the visa from Australia, but entered the UK *before* it was granted, would that void the application?
