Residence requirements for naturalisation, spouse of a BC

Post by ecograd2005 » Mon Nov 18, 2013 2:35 pm

Hi all,

My timeline in the UK is as follows:

September 2008: first arrived in the UK under a Tier 5 student visa
December 2009: granted the Post study work Tier 1 visa
September 2011: marriage to a UK citizen
December 2011: granted leave to remain under form FLR(M)
November 2013: granted ILR under form SET(M)

When can I apply for British Citizenship under form AN? While I have lived in the UK for at least 3 years before applying (5 years in actual fact), I was in the UK under the post study work visa until December 2011. I know that time spent under the PSW visa cannot be counted for ILR residency requirements, is this true for citizenship as well?

Any insights will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thank you, this is very encouraging! Let me know if anyone else has any insights either or success with this type of application.

Many thanks again.
