HMRC Self Employed welcome letter misplaced!

Post by adnaan_23 » Mon Nov 18, 2013 6:05 pm

Hi

The original self employed welcome letter that the HMRC had sent out to me seems to be have been lost in the post...I spoke with them and asked for a replacement to be sent out which I received today, but that letter seems to be worded a bit differently....it reads:

"CONFIRMATION OF UNIQUE TAXPAYER REFERENCE (UTR)

You phone us on 13th November 2013 about your Self Assessment UTR.

Your Self Assessment UTR is xxxxx

Your's sincerely...."

Was wondering if this would be sufficient proof for the requirements (switching from PSW to Tier 1)? Can anyone give me an idea of how the original welcome letter is worded?

Thanks

@ adnaan_23, either original or not, as long as the letter is from HMRC and shows your UTR no, then you should be fine.

All that Home Office need is proof that you have your UTR no before submitting your application and since the letter is issue by HMRC, you should be fine.
The key to success is knowledge and hardwork, and to have faith.
