New SET(M) form - confusing sections

Post by errante » Tue Nov 19, 2013 1:21 pm

Hi
I am filling in the new form for an ILR, SET(M) -which I will be presenting in person next week- and I can't understand some of the sections.

a) Section 3 - Children under 18: we have a 20 months boy, but he is a British National, born in the UK and will not be applying with me...do I need to give his details in that section given that yes he is our son and although he does not need immigration clearance? Question 3.9 makes it all worse when then say please add in here further information about British children?? where does the information go in the end?

b) Section 9.12 - what is the answer to "Please state what ties you have with your country"?? My family and some friends live back home, but is that what they are after?

c) Is my Home Office Reference the number and letters stated in the Biometric Permit letter I got two years ago under the title "Your Ref"? If so it does not fit in the spaces provided in the new SET(M) form...any ideas on what to do?

d) Also, when booking the appointment for the PEO in Liverpool I declared that I was the sole applicant and therefore the document they sent says "Number of attendees (to the appointment): 1", but I am attending with my husband because if I understand correctly he should be present at the time of the application unless for some reason this is not possible. Should I change my appointment description to say two people will be attending?

e) They say in the form that proof of reception of benefits (official documents and statements showing my husband has received the benefits) have to be submitted with the application, they do not say what time-frame this applies to. So, my husband gets child benefits and child tax credits for our boy, but I do not think we have the statements from the day our son was born showing that the benefits have reached my husband's account, any advise? Would it be enough to show statements from the last 3-5 months?

Many thanks

Just mention the British child in 3.9 nothing else.

Yes, just state family.

A reference number is not required.

d) Also, when booking the appointment for the PEO in Liverpool I declared that I was the sole applicant and therefore the document they sent says "Number of attendees (to the appointment): 1", but I am attending with my husband because if I understand correctly he should be present at the time of the application unless for some reason this is not possible. That is fine as your partner must attend, nothing to worry about.

e) They say in the form that proof of reception of benefits (official documents and statements showing my husband has received the benefits) have to be submitted with the application, they do not say what time-frame this applies to. Just the most recent award notices.

Many thanks
