Tier 2 General to ILR

Post by ABasu » Wed Nov 27, 2013 7:41 am

Hi,

I was in the UK on and off between 2009 and 2013 on Tier 2 ICT and am not eligible for ILR through that route due to a break in my stay.

I am now applying for a Tier 2 General and hope to travel to the UK on the visa in December.

My question is - Will I be eligible to apply for ILR once I complete 5 years of continuous stay in the UK in 2018?

Also, since I have already lived for 2 years on ICT Long Term Staff for two years, will these last two years be counted towards the maximum stay of 5/6 years for Tier 2 migrants.

Or would the count reset and I would be able to stay for 5/6 years on the new Tier 2 General starting now.

The five year period will be reset.
