investment in businesses allowed in Tier 2?

Hi
I know in tier 2one cannot buy more than 10% shares of sponsor's company, but what I could not find in UKBA is whether Tier 2 are allowed for investment in any private busineses like crowdfunding ? investing in stock exchange is allowed as investor for tier 2 as far as I know.
