workpermit to Tier2 ICT long term staf. sponser switch query

Hi All,

I came to UK on Intra company transfer Work permit. My work permit expired and I got Tier 2 ICT long term staff visa in Aug, 2012.

My queries are:

1. Can I switch sponser and change to Tier 2 General.
2. I'll be completed 5 years in uk on Dec 2014. If I change sponser and switch to Tier 2, am I still be eligible for ILR?

Any replies will be highly appreciated.

yes, you can switch to T2G if your initial leave was under the rules before 6 April 2011

assuming your initial leve was under the rules before 6 April 2010 you will be eligibly for ILR after 5 years continuous and lawful stay. Switching to T2G will not affect your eligibility

I have assumed that your wp was not multiple-entry and that you switched from wp to T2 ICT in-country. If this is the case the answer to both your questions is YES

My workpermit was Intra company transfer work permit issues for duration of 5 years, Jul 2007 - Jul 2012. it was not a MEWP. I got switched to T2 (ICT) long term staff in UK as my work permit expired.
