Knowing the way the Schengen countries work, it might be next week, might be next year, might be never......

As far as I have seen from the way the Schengen countries work they can't even agree on who or who not to allow in, Spain might say it's fine for them to travel visa free from tomorrow where as France might say "Non" to any of these countries travelling within the next ten years....

So I wouldn't hold my breath for to long if I was you, of course it would be great if they allow these countries to travel visa free but as far as I am concern they couldn't care less, they have enough illegal immigrants to worry about and other problems in the EU they can't be bothered in speeding up the process.....

There is no mentioning at all of allowing these countries to travel visa free if you look at these embassies websites.....

The current countries allowed visa free travel:

Nowhere in Africa has visa free travel.

The Netherlands have stop giving south africans visa free travel just before the country turned from white to black rule. Till this day they can't explain why they have stopped issuing visas just before the country turned into a black majority country and why they were happy to grant white south africans visa free travel for over thirty years during Apartheid. (They only come back and say they can't explain "political issues".

I wonder if they would also start asking Australians visas if Australia was ruled by her original inhabitants the Aboriginals?????

Free movement for a limited period if time without visitor/tourist visa is the basic right for every people whether he/she is white/black/mixed as this right is enjoyed by EU citizens to visit most of the countries around the Globe.

And this basic right should be enjoyed by every human being irrespective of country of resident/citizen around the World.

As a South African living in London (and one who has obtained many Schengen visas over the last 5 years) I have spoken to a number of non-white South Africans here living here in London who have told me of their difficulties in obtaining Schengen visas. Meanwhile for white South Africans like me it has always been a simple, if inconvenient, procedure to get a Schengen visa. Anecdotally it seems as if the Schengen countries embassies are more relaxed with the visa requirements (bank statement, letter of employment, etc) for white South African applicants than they are with non-white South African applicants.

In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
