Hi I am sreekanth got permanent job as a software developer(and I am working on Development of web applications and Supporting web applications)and my salary is 21380 and I am currently on PSW(Post Study Work) visa
which will expires on 30/4/2014.So I had requested my company(who got Tier 2 A rated sponsorship license) for sponosrship on 3/12/2013 and they have started my Tier 2 sponsorship procedure and they applied COS(Certificate of sponsorship) to UKBA with details as follows..
Job Title as SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
SOC CODE:2136
And I got my license number from UKBA ON 9/1/2014.
But I realised that as my current salary as 21380 according to that my SOC CODE SHOULD BE 2137 and Could any one please suggest me that what can I do now like can I reapply for my license again with SOC CODE AS 2137 and also is it possible to change my Job role as WEB DEVELOPER..
Thanks and Regards,
Sreekanth Cherukuri.

Ask your employer to add a sponsor note to the CoS saying that they mistakenly allocated an incorrect SOC code and that the correct SOC code is 2137 and the correct job title Web designer / Internet developer (if that is in fact the case). The job description should match the job title (see the codes of practice)
Don't submit your application until this has been done.

the job title is less important than the description of the job which should match what is in the codes of practice for the particular SOC code

Dealing with the amendment to the CoS it is the sponsor's responsibility, not yours. See above what they need to do.

seems OK but not being in IT I cannot comment on the job description. Make sure that the job description cannot be construed as being for SOC 2135 or 2136 and the best match is with SOC 2137
Ask for a printout of the CoS which includes the sponsor note.
On the basis of the amended CoS you can apply for T2G leave within 3 months of the date of assignment of the CoS. Make sure that the details in the application match exactly what is in the CoS

you can switch from T1 PSW to T2G at any time before your current leave expires and within the 3 month validity period of the CoS.

Check the printout of the CoS, your sponsor may have certified maintenance.

keep checking with HR if there has been any feedback from the HO. This is because altering the SOC code in a CoS is a significant change and the HO may not accept a sponsor note for it. If they don't, a new CoS will have to be generated but since your current T1 PSW leave only expires end of April this shouldn't be a problem.

the current CoS can be cancelled any time and a new one assigned immediately afterwards but it is the sponsor who does this, not you.
