T2 ICT Long Term Staff Dependant - Extend from outside UK

Hi Team,

I am currently in process of applying for Tier 2 ICT long term staff extension for my self for 3 months. My past visa are as follows:
1. Original Application: 02 May 2012 - 01 May 2013 (Applied from India)
2. Leave to Remain: 02 May 2013 - 15 Apr 2014 (Applied from UK)

All through these times my wife and daughter had visa as my dependants on Tier 2 ICT Long Term Staff Partner and T2 ICT LT Staff Child. Now they are travelling to india and would not be able to come back before visa expiry on 15th April 2014.

Can they apply for Visa extension from India after current visa expires? Would any cooling off period apply for them? Could you please share the relevant clause/ article. I am reading through the other posts and am also worried of requirement to go for Biometrics as the family. Would that result into some challenge?
