applying for FLR(HSMP) - Couple of Qs

Post by bulldozer » Thu May 31, 2007 3:20 pm

Hi All,

i am a NZ citizen here in the uk on a WHM visa. Have recieved approval for HSMP last month. Now just back from holiday, I need to send in my passport to get stamped, but have a couple of Qs

Q1- What are the current timescales in processing. I go overseas in 8 weeks time, will I get my passport back in time for this trip (assuming my documentation is A-Ok)

Q2- I am planning on sending employers letter and bank statements for last 3 months to prove I have funds available to sustain myself in the UK. What levels of bank account balance do they want to be satisfied? the guide says nothing about this.

I look forward to your replies

I am pretty certain the FLR(HSMP) processing times are under a month. I did see some members indicate this a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I haven't found the search function on this forum to work very well. If you check back a 2-3 months back, there was a post with regard to processing times.

Bulldozer -

The current timelines for FLR are approx 10 days. Atleast I got mine within that time and I am sure others could verify that. FLR(HSMP) have managed to overcome most of the backlog.

I only sent bank statements for the past 4 months and the wage slips for the same period.

As far as the amount of balance in your account is concerned - there's no fixed rule. I follow a rule of thumb of GBP 2000+ (there's no positive cap obviously but I won't go below 1500 at any cost).

When you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack
