NTL Application Madness!

Post by chrward » Thu Mar 27, 2014 1:28 pm

Hi,

My wife has had ILR since 2008, but unfortunately lost the passport with the visa in.

We were advised by UKBA to apply for NTL, and were told that the current processing time (in December) was around 4-5 weeks from when Biometric data has been received.

We sent the application in early January, and did her Biometrics on Feb 1st, but started getting really nervous as we need to travel on 9th April, and the days were ticking past quickly. UKBA could not give any updates, other than 95% of applications are processed within 6 months!!

As panic set in that we wouldn't receive the permit in time, we decided to withdraw the application by fax (so that documents could be returned within 2 days), and booked a Premium Appointment in Cardiff for this coming Friday.

This morning..... The BRP arrived in the post!!!!

Absolute madness, but whoever received our fax must have decided to just process the application straight away, rather than return all of the documents!

Very, very happy and relieved! But funnily enough we are still waiting for the documents (including her passport) which have been sent by Recorded Delivery.

Do UKBA normally send their Royal Mail Post by 1st or 2nd class??
