Sorry to ask another question here, but we are trying to scope out different options.
My spouse (the applicant) and I currently live in Africa, I am a UK citizen, I am employed here by a German organisation and pay German taxes, as my job is funded by the German government.
Currently I don't pay UK income taxes and complete a UK self assessment for non-residency. I have the option under the German tax system to provide them with a UK residential address and to declare my earnings to HMRC, and pay UK taxes instead of German ones. My question, would doing so be advantageous in terms of the UK financial requirements, in that I would be able to show a minimum income in the UK exceeding the minimum amount for a period of 6+ months before the application for my spouses' visa is made?
Thanks
