Tier 2 General Visa Query

I had applied for a Tier 2 General visa and have also received my visa for validity of 3 years, but I have not travelled to UK yet to join the employer.Now I am getting a better offer with a different employer in UK and I would like to switch to the new employer. So do I need to get a new Tier 2 General visa and get the current visa canceled or I just need to get a new COS from the new employer. Is the Tier 2 General visa linked with an employer and automatically gets canceled when I leave the employer ?

Please advise.
