Hi there.
I have a question in relation to a trip to the UK later this year. My partner and I will be coming over for approx. 4-5mths. I will be working, she will not be. During this four months we will leave the UK to go to the US for 1mth, and then fly back into the UK. so our 4mth stay in the UK will be split into two x 2mth stays.
We plan on purchasing return tickets from Aus to the UK that covers the whole 4-5mth trip. My partner does not have dual citizenship (I do) and will be traveling on an Australian passport, so she will need to come in on a tourist visa, which I believe are valid for 3mths only.
My question is, does the fact that she will be leaving the UK mid way through the trip to go to the US essentially mean she will then come back into the UK on a new and different tourist visa to the one she came in on from Aus? or will it be just one visa that is based on her arrival date and the return to Australia flight date, which could cause issues as it will be longer than 3mths?
Hope the above makes sense. thanks for any advice!
