fw:workpermit.com's hypocrisy on HSMP changes

Post by victorind » Sat Jun 16, 2007 1:53 pm

I have seen this article of workpermit.com
http://www.workpermit.com/news/2007-06- ... hanges.htm

Unfortunately work permit sort of organizations though are more dependent on non EEA nationals but this article seems to be more based towards supporting the govt., against non EEA nationals. WP thinks that the Govt has the right to make retrospective changes to penalize non EEA nationals to create advantage for EEA nationals. Also they quote CRE asking for suspension of rules, I am not sure if it was CRE or conservatives which asked for suspension of the changes.

This is the same workpermit.com which some years back once stated "Australia has also passed border protection laws which are effective retrospectively. Such retrospective legislation is commonly used by dictatorships but seldom by democracies (although the EU is also known to do this from time to time)" - workpermit.com.

Though Australia is not applying retrospective element anymore. Hats off to workpermit.com's hypocrisy.
