work experience and training work permit problems!!!

Post by travelingchef » Fri Jun 22, 2007 3:53 am

I went to the UK on a Student Visa and worked for 6 months through my school to complete my studies. After the six months I came back to the US to renew my visa. I understood that my employer had to apply for a work permit, which they did. My work permit was declined because I needed to verify my education level which I think is QVC level-3. I then was directed to NARIC, but because I went to a vocational school in Culinary Arts and recieve a Degree from that school, the degree is recognized by the US department of Education, but accredited Nationally. NARIC stated that they would only recognize degrees accredited by the six regional accrediting agencies. I don't know where to go from here, I am certain there are many vocational schools in the UK. How can I get my work permit approved?

Thank you for any advice
