Tier 2 Drink driving conviction

Hi,

I moved to the UK in 2009 for a masters with a tier 4 visa, I was lucky and started working immediately after my masters and transferred to a PSW visa.I switched to a tier 2 visa that is valid till 2016. I made the biggest mistake of my life by driving after I had a few drinks in April. I was stopped by the police and was charged with a DUI in May, which is a few weeks ago and was given an 18months driving BAN and a fine of 580pounds and also offered a drink driving course which I took which would reduce my driving BAN to 14months. That is the only conviction I have

To make this more painful I just got a new job offer and need to switch Tier 2 sponsors. My questions are would the dui conviction affect me transferring my tier 2 sponsor, Is it wise to apply for a visa now when I was charged with the offence just a few weeks ago?

Please I need help.
