UK visa

I'm an Indian national holding Indian passport with Belgium type D visa and work permit. My wife has Belgium type D visa. I have applied for Belgium residence permit but still waiting to receive it. I want to know if we would need a UK visa to travel to London? And what all countries I can travel ?

You definitely need to apply for a visa to enter the UK. If you are not permanent residents of Belgium I am pretty sure you will need a visa to travel around the Schengen Area (but wait for further comments).
