Visitor's fund for general visitor visa

For the General Visitor who is being sponsored by his relative in Uk,is bank statements required to be shown.

Is 3 months bank statements ok or it has to be 6 months?If there are 2 accounts because he is citizen of 1 country(that is 2-3 years old account)and working in other country(that countyr's visitor account is just 3 months old from date of visa application though he is working in that country from last 1 year 3 months,but opened account only 3 months back) on work visa?
Then both accounts if we show 3 months statement is it ok?Or one account statement has to be 6 months?
