Dependants of a 'sole representative' visa holder

Post by a-s » Thu Jul 10, 2014 10:46 am

Hi all

I’ve been using this website for information, from time to time, since 2006 when we came to settle in the UK as a family, under the old HSMP scheme. I have always gotten excellent support and advice over here and cannot thank you guys enough.

My query today is on behalf of my brother-in-law in Pakistan who has recently been granted a 3-year visa under the ‘sole representative’ category.

He is required to travel to UK within a 28 day period but understandably, he wants to submit visa applications his dependents (wife plus 2 kids) before he travels to UK, so they are able to join him later.

1. Is it advisable for him to apply visas for dependents now whilst he is in his home country, or should this be done after he has moved to UK and settled down a bit?
2. What is the current visa application fee (per-dependent) from Pakistan?
3. Which visa forms should the dependents use?

If someone can guide me to the relevant guidance notes or information then I’d be very grateful.

Looking forward to your input.

Kind regards

a-s
