My wife and I were married in the US three weeks ago and our application for an unmarried partner visa was received about five weeks ago. Long story about why we went about things this way - renewal of passport, initially sent application to wrong place, thought it would take less time to process, etc. We did not apply for a fiancé visa because this requires a UK marriage. Obviously regretting not waiting until after the marriage now but we need help to figure out how to move forward.
We are wondering whether to send in our marriage certificate to the UK visa office. On the declaration she had to sign on the application form it states that you need to notify the UK visa service if there is a "material change in your circumstances" and I can't find out what that actually means, nor how to go about making the notification, nor whether submitting the certificate would make any difference. Some advice would be very helpful here or pointers to relevant documentation/guidance. Many thanks.
