Quit and rehired after receiving ICT visa

Post by kevin321 » Mon Aug 04, 2014 3:03 am

Hi,

After qualifying and receiving an ICT visa, is it OK to technically terminate employment at the foreign office, and then be rehired by the UK office the same day? The reason is that this would be much easier for my company to handle internally (paperwork, taxes, etc.).

I'm not sure if UK immigration cares about how the company handles the transfer internally after already issuing the ICT visa.

Thank you,

Kevin

Maybe I didn't phrase this quite right.

My question I guess is whether the company can give a local, UK contract under the ICT visa? I imagine the most common contract for an ICT is where the employee is seconded and the salary is paid overseas, etc.

I haven't been able to find any information on this in the UK, but I did find that this type of situation is allowed for immigration to France for instance. ("Intra-Company Transfers: The intra-company transferee may be locally hired (work contract with the entity in France) or seconded (détaché - no local contract)", https://www.emigra.com/emigra-country-profile/france/)
