Overstayed My Student Visa

Hi,
I am from Pakistan and I had the UK student visa Jan 2004 to 31 August 2005. on July 2005 I submitted all the required documents to my college for Visa extension. My college sent my application to the Home Office on 1 Sept. 2005 which was a day later of my visa expired. but my college did not tell me that they have sent my application too late. I was keep following my college for few months for the update but they said that your application is under process at Home Office. on first week of December 2005 I finally called Home Office and asked them the status of application then the person from Home Office confirmed that my file has been dispatched 21 November 2005 to my college.
Then after a long arguments with my college they gave me my Visa application back along with the refusal letter. The reason for the refusal was;
“You was asked on the 20 September 2005 to provide further evidence of your funding to support your application and as you have failed to provide this. Also you made an application 01 September 2005. However, your leave to remain expired on 31 August 2005. You therefore did have leave to remain at the time of your application.”

Due to busy season of Christmas and new year. So, the earliest ticket I could get was on 07 January 2006. And I left UK on 07 January 2006 voluntarily on my own expense.

My question is: am I ban for entry clearance in UK? or my any future visa application will be refuse?
If yes, then for how long?
