Help Please- new and confused

So here is our story in brief; I'm married, of 7 years I'm the husband and the UK citizen. My wife is Chinese and we live and work in China. However we are thinking of moving to the UK, but I see no visa option for a couple living abroad, the U.S have one,Australia has one, but I can't see this on the BIVA site. Just spouse of settled UK citizen.
Now I'm not sure if quitting my job in China and moving to the UK alone, then applying is really a sensible option, what if its rejected.Then we are stuck apart pending appeal and/or me reapplying for another visa to return and work in China, either way resulting in us being separated for what could be many...many months.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do u have £62,500 in savings? If so easy. If not, you as the UK citizen need to return to UK and earn £18,600 pa for six months, it's not much, then you can apply for spouse visa for your missus.

An alternative is to live in another EU state.

If you and your wife are working in China that income can be taken into account to meet the 18600, provided you have been earning this income over continuous 6 months or a year, depending on the category you wish to apply under.

Furthermore if your wife has secured a Job offer and that job will be available for her to start within 3 months of her entry, you will also be able to qualify for entry, the last but not the least option is the one suggested by the last poster, that you could move to an EU state other than the United Kingdom with your wife.

Obie, it's the wife who is Chinese. If you as the sponsor have been earning at least £18,600 in China for the last 6 months and have a confirmed job offer in the UK to start within 3 months of arrival with a salary of £18,600 or over, you would meet the financial condition. You would also need to show you have adequate accommodation available on your arrival and you wife will have to comply with the pre-entry English requirement.

If I was earning £18600 per 6 months or £37400 a year the equivalent to roughly 380,000 rmb we would be living like gods here. even 18600 in china would be considered a great salary like £180,000 would in the UK.
I do have a job offer for me on return on return which exceeds the £18600 and my wife's english is a 5.5 IELTS. We do have a place to live as well.

Thanks for the correction Casa. It is the British Citizen spouse that has to have a guaranteed job waiting within 3 months of arriving, that will be at the level of 18,600 a year.

You don't each have to be earning that.

Just one set of 18600 or the combine earning for the both of you has to be 18,600, and you need to demonstrate that within 3 months of arriving, the British CItizen Spouse will be in a job with an earning of at least 18600 a year.

I am hoping if you have children, they will be British Citizen, so i will not state the expected earning for children.

Well it is a logical deduction that if gross earning is 18600 6 months will be 9,300 .
