Got my EC (from India) - thanks to you all

Post by push » Wed Jul 18, 2007 6:44 am

Hey ppl,

I am happy to inform you that my EC has been approved today. Just got the passport back, with VISA stamped for 2 years (both for myself & the dependent). It was a long wait (but in the hindsight, the outome was worth the wait)

I must thank you all for providing support/help/advice and valuable guidance throughtout the last few months that i have been associated with the Board.

I will continue to frequent the board and would be willing to provide any support that I can. As I am an MBA and am joining an Investment Bank in London, i would additionally be available for answering questions related to jobs in the sector.

I have been living in London for last 1 year, so if you think I can be of any use regarding info on the city/accomodation/cost of living etc. please send me a personal message/post a query on the board.

Once again thanks to you all and the discussion board administrators.....

best regards,

How much funds did you declare in your EC application?

What did you mention as list of places staying at?

Your reply will be highly appreciated

I showed around GBP 15 K . But this I know for sure, is on the higher side.

The rough rule is to show around GBP 3000 per applicant (You would be better off if you show a breakup of your expected monthly expenses and then based on that calculate the requirement for 4-6 months).

Thank you push_hsmp...

thanks for all the help.

could also clear some basic form filling up doubts...

1) VAF1 2.13 permanent address
(now I am here in bangalore for my job...but my house is in Kolkata)
SHOULD I put KOLKATA/BANGALORE applying to VFS BANGALORE

and VAF1 2.14: correspondence address
BANGALORE
in HSMP I had put my freinds bangalore address (SHOULD I PUT THAT?)
or my actual address in Bangalore when I have rented a house.

2) VAF1 5.6 address and telephone number places you visit:
what should I mention here my friends home address where I plan to put up?

3) VAF1 6.4 Employer telephone number: main board number / HR contact number? email address : HR email address?

4) 6.10: it should be the money i show as my bank balance rite?

5) 6.11: Who is paying for my trip: MYSELF(is that good enough)

5) INTEGRA Type HSMP Form: Employment details: Employer ttelephone number: Main booard number?

Looks liek I have asked a lot of questions...but please help...you know the state you will be before the EC....

Thanks in advance.

Hi...

my query is regarding your earlier 'student visa'.... when you are applying for a student visa for a course commencing oct'2008 and you are applying for it on feb'08. ,what date would they probably give as entry date to uk...will it be close to feb or oct?... this query is because i'm getting married in march and want to leave to uk with my husband .. but then if my student visa gets valid only from october then i might be in trouble... please suggest something...

thx,
soghos
