Good news on Vetting for Naturalisation

Post by banana07 » Thu Sep 11, 2014 9:15 am

I called the vetting unit in Tip and asked for the general processing times for vetting, and the lady confirmed that nowadays it takes 3 weeks to get full report for straight forward cases, and can go up to 4 weeks if there is big demand. This improvement only started in early august! however, she warned that in coming months, there might be huge back log if all teachers are forced to be vetted (80k teachers!) and they have no details on this process yet..

that's said, the process of naturlisation will be faster by a month on average (of course, subject to INIS lads to be co-operative!)

Edit: I found this article too: http://www.thejournal.ie/garda-vetting- ... 7-Aug2014/
I'm officially diagnosed with INIS "processing" phobia
