I am a Non-EU citizen (U.S.) married to an Italian citizen and am happily living here as an EU-spouse resident here in Germany. We are expecting our first child in February and although we both work and pay taxes, I am wondering the extent of the maternity rights that I will have due to only living and working here for less than one year. Does anyone know if there will be a limit to my maternity leave time or if there will be a reduction to the average 67% salary paid during maternity leave?
